Westminster Staff

Owen Stepp joined the Westminster staff in October 2020. He has a calling to cultivate Christ-centered community where all people are invited to meet Jesus, grow in His likeness, and engage in His mission. He and his wife Carolyn met in Atlanta and it was there that God blessed them to become the parents of Anna Kate, Charlie, and Sarah. In his free time, Owen enjoys sports, travel, and sharing good barbecue with family and friends.

Tamara Park Walters is overjoyed to journey with the Westminster community. She revels in coming alongside others—to encourage authentic and vibrant relationships with God, each other and the broader world. So, she’s very grateful to get to focus on spiritual formation, community-building and service here at WPC. She’s energized by hearing people stories, traveling and being in nature…and she loves a good dance party in the kitchen and nerding out on neuroscience. She is newly married to Jamie Walters and is discovering what it means to be a bonus mom to four incredible young people. She looks forward to getting to know you more—and would be delighted to have coffee, lunch or a walk with you soon!

Sara Terrell joined the Westminster staff in October 2024. She is passionate about vibrant worship that engages the whole community of God and invites us into curiosity about what God is up to in His larger story. At WPC, she is delighted to focus on collaborative musical and creative worship arts that pour out of our relationships with God and each other. She loves good conversation, making things, and the incredible variety of God’s creation. She would love to get to know you better!

We are thrilled to welcome Julie Babb, who will be serving as our Interim Director of Children’s Ministry. Julie has been part of the Westminster family for over 25 years, and her deep connection to our church is truly a gift. In her spare time, Julie enjoys being with her family, taking walks, reading, and working on jigsaw puzzles.

Garrison McMillan began serving Westminster as the seminary intern for Westminster Youth in February of 2025. She is originally from Greenville, SC and is a graduate of the University of South Carolina. After she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, she started the Master of Divinity program at Gordon-Conwell in Charlotte. She has a passion for youth ministry and hopes to soon begin the ECO Presbyterian ordination process. Garrison feels fortunate to pursue her call to ministry at Westminster. In her free time, she enjoys yoga and experimenting with her espresso machine.

Brad Daniel joined the Westminster team in 2025. Brad has lived in Charlotte since 2007 and prior to coming to Westminster worked for Duke Energy in Operations and Portfolio Management. Brad and his wife Emily have two children, Cameron and William, and attend Hope Community Church where Brad serves as a Deacon focused on mercy ministry. He also serves as a volunteer High School sports Chaplain for Cede Sports. In his free time, Brad enjoys playing pickleball with friends, spending time at the pool with his family and going to Knights games.

David Jenkins joined the Westminster team in 2021. He and his wife Nikia have been blessed to raise four children. In his free time, David enjoys basketball, fishing, and grilling!

DJ Jenkins joined Westminster in 2023. He graduated from Myers Park High School in 2018 and became a barber immediately after graduation, a profession he still enjoys today. DJ is blessed with a wonderful wife and daughter. In his free time, he enjoys music and spending time with family and friends.

Susan Hemphill joined the Westminster team in 2022. Dedicated to serving others, she is a Stephen Minister and is actively involved at her church, Myers Park United Methodist Church.

Susan has one daughter who is married, along with three grandchildren and one great-grandson. In her free time, she enjoys walking the greenways, spending time in nature, tending to her flower beds, and watching the birds that visit her yard.

Susan’s passion for service, combined with her love of nature and community, reflects the caring spirit she brings to both her personal and professional life.

Kiana Bernard joins Westminster as Communications Coordinator, leading church-wide communications and supporting Children’s Ministry volunteers. A Cincinnati native, Hampton University graduate, and UNC Charlotte graduate student, she brings creativity, leadership, and a background in performance and musical theater. She enjoys serving others, staying active, and time with family and friends.
